Could fuel costs drive EV growth?

Rising oil prices are impacting consumers. Could we see a more to EV vehicles sooner rather than later as drivers race to ditch their combustion engines to save money at the petrol pump.

I’m in two minds whether this is a good idea or not. On the surface it would appear good, however this may lead us into technical dead ends in an immature market. Clearly there is not the established infrastructure in place for recharging vehicles and no universal technology. Consider it rather like the VHS/Betamax competition that went on in the 1980s and more Bluray technology more recently. However pressure on the market is good, forcing more to consider using greener alternatives.

Let’s hope that governments around the world fully support the introduction of the EV.
